The Beginning: Claremont “Bill” Fallert met Marianne Spees at the District Attorney’s office, where Marianne worked at the time as the court stenographer, while paying off a ticket that he had received for hunting out of season.

South Coast Lumber Co. was established by Bill Fallert, Charlie Ames, and Archie Simpson.

The planer was built, which inspired the brand name 'South Coast Milling', where our lumber brand 'SOCOMI' derived from.
1955
Carol Beckley, Bill's daughter, returns from college to assume an accounting role for the company as her husband, John Beckley, worked his way up to become the sawmill superintendent.
1973
Ron Fallert returned to the company and worked his way from General Manager to the CEO position.
1979
Larry Fallert started R & O Logging, becoming the primary logging contractor for South Coast Lumber Co.
1990
Our plywood division became known as Pacific Wood Laminates, Inc.
1991
The LVL mill was constructed with cutting-edge technology, providing another competitive dimension to our wood product offerings. Also acquired 18,000 acres of timberland from Georgia Pacific in this year.
2006
Modernized our sawmill to efficiently process smaller timber.
