South Coast Lumber Company

South Coast Lumber Co. is the Lumber producing arm of the Company.

South Coast’s first sawmill was built in the early 1950’s and was continuously upgraded through its’ life span sawing large old growth lumber until the resource was no longer available.

In 1979 a small log studmill was built to process logs from 6” – 10” in diameter, with lengths from 7’ to 10’. That mill continues to operate today as lumber markets dictate.

In 2006 the old growth sawmill was demolished and a new modern fully computerized and optimized sawmill was constructed to efficiently process the volume of smaller second growth logs available.
Roughly four times the volume is produced in the new mill with one third the previous workforce.

The new mill started production in 2005.
It remains one of the most efficient sawmills in the world.

Lumber products are sawn in sizes from 1” x 4” – 4” x 12” from 8’ long to 20’ long.
Virtually any size can be sawn within these parameters.
Most grades are available, as are customer requested proprietary grades.

Our quality of manufacturing is second to none and we welcome you to compare our products to any other lumber produced.
